Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves - Estimate Summary »

Porkonen in Finnish Lapland is situated in a geological environment resembling some of the world’s biggest gold deposits like the American Homestake and Morro Velho in Brasilia. The area is dominated by sedimentary origin quartz banded iron ore formations in metavolcanites. The sections in which the later movements of the crust have created cutting shear zones are considered to have good potential for gold mineralisations. Historical exploration efforts show that there exist geochemical anomalies and gold indications in the form of mineralised boulders in the area. The Company’s studies have confirmed this.

The bedrock in Porkonen belongs to a Proterozoic greenstone belt that reaches from the Norwegian coast over Sweden and Finland continuing to Russia. About forty gold mineralisations have been identified in the greenstones around Kittilä and Sodankylä. Most of them are tied to a significant tectonic shear zone, the so called Sirkka Line.

Claims and Planned Future Works

Endomines has four separate claims in the area Porkonen covering approx. 400 hectares. In July 2008 19 new claim applications were left to the Ministry of Employment and the Economy. These new claim applications cover an area of over 1700 hectares.

Porkonen area has been studied by mapping and sampling. Geologically interesting areas will be studied further with geophysical and geochemical methods. Besides that, the Company plans to drill and strip the mineralised veins to get a better overall picture of the area. Endomines estimates that the formation in Porkonen has significant potential, and because of that also the remaining and applied claims will be studied intensively during the next few years.
